QCOM•Qualcomm plans worldwide performance-focused job cuts after annual employee reviews, with notifications set to begin in November. The memo did not specify how many jobs would be affected.
CEO Cristiano Amon told staff in a memo that Qualcomm will cut jobs globally following its annual employee reviews. Notifications are set to begin in November, but the memo did not state the scale of the reductions. Qualcomm had about 52,000 employees globally as of September last year.
Amon said the cuts would consider business priorities, organizational needs, skills and expertise. Qualcomm’s shares were down about 1% in premarket trading on Tuesday. In its latest earnings report in late July, the company forecast quarterly profit below estimates and said revenue from Apple products would decline faster than expected.
