REalloys Secures Priority Rights to 30% of Patriot's 2B Ton Rare Earth Output
ALOY•REalloys signed a non-binding LOI with Patriot to secure priority access to up to 30% of Patriot's rare earth production from 2 billion metric tons of above-ground feedstock across 150 Appalachian sites. The agreement triggers metallurgical test work and bench- and pilot-scale validation to confirm compatibility with REalloys' processing platform.
1. LOI Details
REalloys and Patriot Exploration & Mining executed a non-binding Letter of Intent granting REalloys priority access to approximately 30% of Patriot’s rare earth output. Under the LOI, the parties will pursue bench-scale and pilot-scale metallurgical testing to validate feedstock compatibility with REalloys’ separation and metallization infrastructure.
2. Patriot Resource Base
Patriot controls an estimated 2 billion metric tons of above-ground, rare earth element-bearing material across more than 150 Appalachian Basin sites from Alabama to Pennsylvania. These deposits include critical magnet metals neodymium, dysprosium, praseodymium and terbium essential for defense and advanced technology applications.
3. Testing and Validation
The agreement outlines a program of metallurgical test work on Patriot’s materials, followed by pilot-scale validation at REalloys’ Ohio facility. Successful testing will confirm that Patriot’s brownfield feedstock can integrate seamlessly into REalloys’ heavy rare earth processing and downstream magnet manufacturing chain.
4. Strategic Impact
This LOI bolsters REalloys’ allied feedstock network ahead of 2027 U.S. defense procurement requirements, complementing existing partnerships in Canada, Brazil, Kazakhstan and Greenland. Priority access to domestic feedstock is poised to enhance REalloys’ ability to supply defense-grade rare earth products at scale and on a compliant, sovereign supply chain.
