GH Research published Phase 2a PPD trial results showing inhaled GH001 cut MADRS scores by 35.4 points at Day 8 (P<0.0001) with 100% remission within two hours, sustained in all 10 participants. Maternal functioning rose by 34.1 points and no serious adverse events or suicidal ideation occurred.
GH Research released full results from its Phase 2a, single-arm, open-label trial of inhaled GH001 in 10 adult women with postpartum depression. The peer-reviewed article details rapid antidepressant effects and supports the first psychedelic-based therapeutic study in this indication.
The trial met its primary endpoint with a mean Montgomery–Åsberg Depression Rating Scale reduction of 35.4 points at Day 8 (P<0.0001). All 10 participants achieved remission within two hours of dosing, sustained through Day 8, with a 56% mean increase in maternal functioning and only mild to moderate adverse events reported.
Analysis of breast milk samples indicated that only a brief interruption of breastfeeding around GH001 dosing is required, supporting a practical treatment strategy for nursing mothers.
GH Research will present two oral communications at the World Congress of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP 2026) on June 27 and 28 in Glasgow, highlighting Phase 2b trial results for GH001 in treatment-resistant depression.
