Reflection AI Secures $6.3B SpaceX Compute Deal Using Nvidia GB300 Chips
NVDA•Reflection AI secured a $6.3B, $150M/month compute contract with SpaceX starting July 2026, deploying Nvidia GB300 chips at Colossus 2, and Nvidia holds an $800M stake in Reflection. Nvidia also co-led a $190M extension funding for Upscale AI and partnered with PNNL and Fervo Energy on geothermal AI exploration.
1. SpaceX Compute Deal Deploys Nvidia GB300 Chips
Reflection AI and SpaceX entered a computing agreement where Reflection will pay $150 million per month from July 1, 2026, through 2029 for access to Nvidia GB300 chips and related hardware housed in SpaceX’s Colossus 2 facility, totaling up to $6.3 billion in spend, with a 90-day exit clause after the initial three months.
2. Nvidia’s Strategic Investments in AI Startups
Nvidia invested $800 million in Reflection AI’s most recent funding round and stands to supply the GB300 chips for the SpaceX deal. Separately, Nvidia joined Premji Invest and others in co-leading a $190 million extension for Upscale AI, boosting its valuation to $2 billion in a round that brings Upscale’s total funding to $500 million for its AI networking solutions.
3. Geothermal AI Partnership with PNNL and Fervo Energy
In the clean energy sector, Nvidia is partnering with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Fervo Energy to develop a publicly accessible AI-driven digital twin for geothermal drilling, aiming to optimize well placement by eliminating subsurface uncertainty through advanced simulation and real-time data analysis powered by Nvidia GPUs.
