Richardson Electronics Forms Gotion Partnership for U.S.-Made 760-kWh and 5 MWh BESS

RELLRELL

Richardson Electronics has partnered with Gotion to launch U.S.-manufactured battery energy storage systems featuring a 760-kWh platform for commercial and industrial applications and a 5 MWh unit for utility-scale deployments. The systems will be assembled in Manteno, Illinois, and qualify for up to $250/kWh CRGA rebates.

1. Technology Partnership Overview

Richardson Electronics has formed a technology partnership with Gotion Inc to deliver domestically manufactured battery energy storage systems targeting commercial, industrial and utility-scale markets in the United States. The collaboration unites Richardson’s LaFox engineering expertise with Gotion’s Manteno, Illinois, manufacturing hub.

2. Battery Energy Storage Platforms

The partnership will introduce two advanced BESS platforms: a 760-kWh system designed for commercial and industrial installations and a 5 MWh system engineered for large-scale utility deployments. These platforms can support projects ranging from customized C&I deployments to multi-hundred-megawatt utility schemes.

3. Manufacturing and Incentives

All battery modules and system assembly will take place at Gotion’s Manteno, Illinois, facility, ensuring domestic supply chain resilience. Projects may qualify for Illinois Climate Resilience and Grid Advancement program rebates of up to $250 per kWh for standalone storage systems.

4. Roles and Commercialization

Under the agreement, Gotion will supply advanced battery technology, while Richardson Electronics will lead commercialization, engineering integration and go-to-market strategy. This division of responsibilities leverages Gotion’s manufacturing strength and Richardson’s power market expertise.
