Roche says divarasib cut risk of death 44% in lung cancer trial
Roche said divarasib reduced the risk of death by 44% versus existing treatments in a Phase III trial of previously treated lung cancer patients. Median overall survival was nearly 18 months with divarasib, compared with 12 months for sotorasib or adagrasib.
1. Trial results
The Phase III Krascendo 1 trial compared divarasib with sotorasib or adagrasib in 338 patients with previously treated KRAS G12C-mutated non-small cell lung cancer. Divarasib lowered the risk of disease progression or death by 42%; median progression-free survival was 9.8 months, versus 5.7 months in the control group. The objective response rate was 58%, compared with 32%. No new safety findings were observed, and 4.8% of patients taking divarasib stopped treatment because of treatment-related adverse events, versus 11.7% in the control group. Results were presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress and published in the New England Journal of Medicine; Roche said it was working with health authorities to bring the treatment to patients.
