Root Insurance Cuts Agent Onboarding to 24 Hours, Appoints Over 7,500 Agents
Root Insurance’s 24-hour agent appointment program reduces onboarding from weeks to one day and has appointed over 7,500 agents, including 2,400 so far in 2026. This expansion, now covering 15,000+ agents and 4,000+ agencies, could accelerate policy sales and revenue growth across its operating states.

Root Insurance has introduced a fully digital 24-hour agent appointment program that compresses the traditional multi-week onboarding process into a single day, enabling independent agents to apply and begin selling policies within 24 hours.
2. Rapid Agent Network Expansion
Since the program’s rollout, Root has appointed over 7,500 independent agents, including approximately 2,400 added in 2026, and now counts more than 15,000 appointed agents across over 4,000 approved agencies.

By accelerating agent onboarding, Root aims to expand its distribution footprint, drive faster policy issuance and revenue growth, and provide small to mid-sized agencies with quicker access to its car insurance products across most operating states.
