Royal Caribbean Orders Icon Class Ships 6 and 7 for 2029 and 2030

Royal Caribbean has confirmed orders for two additional Icon Class ships from Meyer Turku, scheduled for delivery in 2029 and 2030 under its long-term framework agreement securing shipbuilding capacity through 2036. These Icon 6 and 7 vessels follow the 2028 Icon 5 order and further expand the Group’s next-generation fleet.

1. Order Confirmation and Delivery Timeline

Royal Caribbean has placed orders for the sixth and seventh vessels in its Icon Class series with Meyer Turku, scheduled for delivery in 2029 and 2030. The Icon 7 contract remains subject to customary financing conditions.

2. Long-Term Shipbuilding Capacity Agreement

This order extends Royal Caribbean's framework agreement with Meyer Turku through 2036, building on the previously announced Icon 5 delivery in 2028 and securing continued access to Finland's leading shipyard capacity.

3. Strategic Partnership and Economic Impact

The collaboration spans over three decades, during which Meyer Turku has built 25 ships for the Group, employs 13,000 workers, and contributes over €1 billion annually to Finland's economy, underpinning Royal Caribbean’s fleet expansion and innovation strategy.
