RTX Lands Five Framework Deals to Boost Tomahawk, AMRAAM and SM-6 Output

RTXRTX

RTX entered five up-to-seven-year framework agreements with the U.S. Department of War to boost Tomahawk missile production to over 1,000 units, AMRAAMs to at least 1,900 and SM-6 to more than 500. The deals support RTX’s 2026 outlook by funding capacity expansions at Tucson, Huntsville and Andover facilities.

1. Singapore Airlines Maintenance Deal with RTX's Collins Aerospace

Singapore Airlines Group has entered into a multi-year maintenance agreement with RTX’s Collins Aerospace division to support its 27-aircraft Boeing 777 fleet, including five newly delivered 777F freighters. Under the FlightSense program, Collins Aerospace will deliver on-wing health monitoring, predictive analytics and scheduled maintenance planning. The contract covers engine accessory overhauls, landing-gear component inspections and avionics line-replaceable unit repair. Boeing 777 dispatch reliability for Singapore Airlines currently exceeds 99.5%, and Collins Aerospace expects to reduce unscheduled maintenance events by up to 15%, supporting the carrier’s expansion of long-haul routes in 2026 and beyond.

2. RTX and U.S. Department of War Sign Landmark Munitions Agreements

RTX’s Raytheon business secured five framework agreements with the U.S. Department of War to accelerate production of key precision munitions over the next seven years. Annual output targets include more than 1,000 Tomahawk cruise missiles, at least 1,900 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, over 500 SM-6 multi-role interceptors, and two- to four-fold increases in SM-3 Block IB and Block IIA interceptor rates. Production will be carried out at facilities in Tucson, Arizona; Huntsville, Alabama; and Andover, Massachusetts. RTX’s planned investments in factory expansions and workforce growth are already accounted for in its 2026 financial outlook, which forecasts double-digit defense segment revenue growth driven by these munitions programs.

3. Vietjet Expands with RTX’s Pratt & Whitney GTF Engines

Vietjet Air has selected RTX’s Pratt & Whitney division to power an additional 44 Airbus A320neo family aircraft—24 A321neos and 20 A321XLRs—bringing the carrier’s total GTF-powered orders to 137 units. Deliveries begin in July 2026, and a 12-year EngineWise Comprehensive maintenance agreement will cover on-wing service, depot repairs and spare-parts logistics. Vietjet’s existing GTF fleet of 42 aircraft has achieved up to 20% fuel-burn reduction and 75% smaller noise footprint relative to previous-generation engines. Pratt & Whitney forecasts that this extended partnership will support Vietjet’s network expansion across Asia-Pacific, Europe and Australia while improving regional operating economics.
