RTX Secures $1.03B Army Radar Deal, Invests $139M in Singapore Aviation
RTX secured a $1.03B U.S. Army LTAMDS radar contract and invested $139M to expand aviation maintenance in Singapore, including APS5000 APU support for 24 Boeing 787s. Collins Aerospace won flight data connectivity on 32 Thai Airways A321neos and extended FlightSense™ programs covering 27 Singapore Airlines 777s plus ANA MRO services.
1. Pratt & Whitney Canada Secures 15-Year APS5000 Maintenance Deal with Scoot
RTX’s Pratt & Whitney Canada division has finalized a 15-year maintenance agreement with Scoot, the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines, covering a minimum of 24 APS5000 auxiliary power units installed on Scoot’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. This long-term contract guarantees predictable maintenance costs and dispatch reliability, leveraging the APS5000’s all-electric design, which delivers 450 kVA of power at sea level, operates up to 43,100 feet, and has logged nearly 16 million flight hours across more than 1,400 units manufactured. The agreement underscores RTX’s strategy to secure recurring revenue streams through multi-year support programs that enhance airline operational efficiency and fleet availability.
2. Collins Aerospace Rolls Out GlobalConnect FOMAX for Thai Airways A321neo Fleet
Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, will equip Thai Airways’ 32 Airbus A321neo aircraft with its GlobalConnect flight operations and maintenance exchanger (FOMAX) system under a managed services program set to complete by 2028. The FOMAX platform, which already monitors nearly 1,500 aircraft globally, enables real-time data exchange via ACARS over IP, supporting predictive maintenance, situational awareness and automatic quick-access recorder downloads after each landing. By integrating these capabilities, RTX positions itself to capture growing demand for data-driven fleet management solutions that reduce delays and operational costs.
3. RTX Wins $1.03 Billion LTAMDS Radar Contract from U.S. Army
RTX’s Raytheon business unit has secured a $1.03 billion contract to supply the U.S. Army with its Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) radar system. The award reinforces RTX’s role in advanced air and missile defense, extending revenue visibility through the system’s multi-year production phase. LTAMDS, designed to detect and track multiple aerial threats, builds on RTX’s defense backlog and enhances the company’s position in the integrated air defense market, where long-cycle government programs contribute to stable cash flows.
4. $139 Million Singapore Investment to Expand RTX’s Aerospace Operations
At the Singapore Air Show, RTX announced $139 million in new investments through its Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney divisions to bolster Singapore as a strategic aerospace hub. Key initiatives include expanding GTF engine Fan Drive Gear System maintenance at Seletar, increasing hot-section coating capacity by 25% at Tuas, and establishing AI-driven MRO lines. These investments underpin multi-year service contracts with Singapore Airlines and All Nippon Airways and aim to meet surging regional demand for next-generation aircraft maintenance and MRO capabilities.
