Safe Pro integrates SPOTD AI on Lantronix Open-Q SOM for Army SRR drones
Safe Pro completed a 120-day development cycle to integrate its SPOTD AI threat detection onto Lantronix’s Qualcomm-based Open-Q SOM platform now deployed in U.S. Army SRR drones. The Master Services Agreement expands edge-native vision processing with on-device NPUs for real-time object detection, broadening Safe Pro’s addressable market.
1. Collaboration Milestone
Safe Pro and Lantronix have completed a 120-day development cycle under a Master Services Agreement signed earlier this year, integrating Safe Pro’s Object Threat Detection AI (SPOTD) into Lantronix’s Qualcomm-based Open-Q System-on-Module platform.
2. Technical Integration
The integrated solution leverages on-device neural processing units to enable real-time video, sensor, and neural workload processing without cloud dependence, with Lantronix’s modules already deployed in U.S. Army Short Range Reconnaissance drones.
3. Addressable Market Expansion
By embedding SPOTD into widely used industrial IoT modules, Safe Pro taps into a growing ecosystem of defense and commercial autonomous platforms, backed by a dataset of 2.75 million drone images and over 49,000 detected threats to date.
