Sagimet says partner trial shows denifanstat sustains acne efficacy through 52 weeks
SGMT•Sagimet said an Ascletis Phase 3 open-label extension in China showed sustained acne improvement with denifanstat through 52 weeks, with tolerability broadly consistent with earlier findings. The results will be presented at the 2026 Fall Clinical Dermatology Conference, and Sagimet said its U.S. AURORA Phase 3 trial has activated sites and begun screening patients.
1. 52-week trial results
Sagimet flagged positive 52-week acne data for oral denifanstat from Ascletis’ Phase 3 open-label extension in China. The study showed sustained clinical improvement across key acne endpoints over a year, with tolerability broadly consistent with earlier findings.
2. U.S. trial progress
The results will be presented at the 2026 Fall Clinical Dermatology Conference in Las Vegas, running Oct. 8-11. Sagimet said its AURORA U.S. Phase 3 trial has activated sites and started screening patients as it advances development outside China.
