Salazar Maps 2 km×1 km Copper-Gold Porphyry System with 4.77% Cu Sample
TGB•Salazar Resources’ Monja Project in southern Ecuador has revealed a 2 km × 1 km copper-gold porphyry core from surface mapping, with the best rock chip returning 4.77% Cu, 1.12 g/t Au and 19.5 g/t Ag. The company now holds 100% of Monja plus three other Ecuador exploration assets and a 25% carried interest in the El Domo deposit.
1. New Greenfields Target Defined
Surface mapping at the Monja Project has outlined a 2 km by 1 km copper-gold porphyry core within a Paleocene-Miocene belt in Loja Province, southern Ecuador, identified through granodiorite outcrops and hydrothermal breccias.
2. High-Grade Rock Chip Results
Nine preliminary rock chip samples yielded up to 4.77% Cu, 1.12 g/t Au, 19.5 g/t Ag and 74 ppm Mo, highlighting bornite and tourmaline breccias; follow-up drilling is planned to assess continuity.
3. Portfolio Consolidation Completed
Salazar closed its acquisition of three Ecuador exploration assets—Santiago, Pijilí and Tarqui-Quimi—adding to its 100% Monja ownership and a 25% carried interest in the El Domo deposit.
4. Strategic Positioning in Tight Copper Market
With global copper prices over $6.00/lb and supply deficits forecast, Salazar’s discovery-focused model targets high-potential porphyries to supply future copper demand.
