Salazar Reports Over 100 g/t Gold and BHP-Drilled Copper System at Tarqui
SLSR•Salazar's rock-chip sampling at the Tarqui Concession returned over 100 g/t gold and 1,000 g/t silver, plus 13 samples grading 1–17.9 g/t gold over 100 metres. The property includes a BHP-drilled copper-molybdenum porphyry with historical intercepts up to 0.34% copper-equivalent over 218 metres, open at depth.
1. High-Grade Gold-Silver Sampling
Salazar's rock-chip sampling at the Yumi epithermal vein returned exceptional assays including over 100 g/t gold, over 1,000 g/t silver and 13 additional samples grading 1–17.9 g/t gold across 100 metres, indicating a robust surface mineralization footprint that warrants drilling.
2. Historical Porphyry Drilling
Beneath the Tarqui Concession lies a district-scale copper-molybdenum porphyry system previously tested by BHP under a 2019–2022 earn-in agreement, with drill intercepts of 0.33% copper-equivalent over 186 metres and 0.34% over 218 metres, confirming bulk-tonnage potential open at depth.
3. Jurisdiction and Geological Context
Tarqui sits in Ecuador’s Morona Santiago Province within the Jurassic Zamora Batholith belt, approximately 48 kilometres north of a major epithermal deposit and adjacent to known porphyry systems, offering strategic on-trend positioning with existing infrastructure nearby.
4. Exploration Outlook
With high-grade surface veins and a validated porphyry target, Salazar plans follow-up drilling to test depth extensions, expand vein strike, and evaluate resource potential on both Tarqui and the adjacent Quimi concession, advancing its dual exploration thesis.
