Salesforce Secures $5.6B, 10-Year U.S. Army AI Missionforce Contract

Salesforce was awarded a $5.6 billion, 10-year IDIQ contract by the U.S. Army through its national security subsidiary, Computable Insights, to deliver AI-driven Missionforce solutions across logistics, analytics and personnel workflows. The agreement aims to accelerate AI integration, provide real-time analytics and shorten procurement cycles for defense operations.

1. Salesforce Stock Plunges Nearly 21% in 2025

Salesforce shares fell by almost 21% over the course of 2025 as investors shifted capital toward pure-play AI leaders and labeled the CRM pioneer as legacy technology despite its own AI investments. The company reported weak single-digit revenue growth in the first three quarters of its 2026 fiscal year and delivered profitability metrics that barely outpaced low analyst estimates. However, sentiment began to turn in October when Salesforce unveiled its Agentforce 360 AI platform, and was further boosted by a robust Q3 fiscal 2026 earnings report that beat consensus on both top-line growth and adjusted operating margin. These milestones helped the stock recoup roughly half of its earlier decline heading into 2026.

2. Grants 139,574 RSUs Under Inducement Equity Plan

Under its 2014 Inducement Equity Incentive Plan, Salesforce granted a total of 139,574 restricted stock units to 42 new employees acquired through its purchases of Apromore (31 employees), Spindle AI (8 employees) and Informatica (3 employees). The RSUs vest over four years, with 25% vesting on the first anniversary of each grant and the remaining 75% vesting in equal quarterly installments thereafter. All awards require continued service, reinforcing retention of talent in engineering, AI development and integration roles.

3. Secures $5.6 Billion U.S. Army IDIQ Contract

Salesforce’s national security subsidiary, Computable Insights, won a 10-year, $5.6 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide the U.S. Army with cloud-based CRM and AI-powered Missionforce solutions. The deal will accelerate the Army’s data integration, real-time analytics and decision-support capabilities, compress procurement cycles from months to days, and support end-to-end personnel workflows. This award builds on more than a decade of collaboration between Salesforce and military agencies and underscores the company’s strategy to expand its defense-focused product suite.
