Sanofi expands Regeneron partnership with up to $8 billion deal in win for new CEO
SNY•Sanofi and Regeneron will expand their partnership to develop four drugs, with Sanofi paying $1 billion upfront and up to $7 billion in milestone payments. The deal also settles litigation between the partners.
1. Expanded drug partnership
The companies will share development and commercialization costs and split future profits equally. Regeneron will lead research and development, while Sanofi will lead global sales efforts; existing Dupixent profit-sharing terms will not change.
2. Four antibody drugs
The drugs target the same type 2 inflammation pathways as Dupixent. REGN20423 is in early-stage testing for atopic dermatitis, and the other three treatments are expected to begin clinical testing in 2027. Regeneron may also join Sanofi’s experimental drug lunsekimig after its late-stage trials for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are completed.
