Santander-owned Getnet added Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) acceptance to its physical POS terminals in Spain, targeting Chinese and other Asian tourists.
The rollout aims to help Spanish merchants reduce payment friction as inbound China tourism rebounds.
Spain received 795,500 tourists from China in 2025, up 22.6% year on year; visitor spending topped EUR 2.2 billion.
