1. Billionaires Increase Microsoft Exposure
During the third quarter, two prominent investors significantly boosted their Microsoft holdings. Peter Thiel reallocated capital from Tesla and Nvidia into a $25 million Microsoft position, making it his second-largest equity stake. Daniel Loeb’s Third Point more than doubled its Microsoft allocation, elevating the stake to 6.9% of the fund’s portfolio. Their moves signal high conviction in Microsoft’s growth trajectory for 2026, particularly given the company’s deep partnership with OpenAI and leadership in enterprise AI services.
2. Dynamics 365 Business Applications Drive Growth
Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 suite delivered a 21% year-over-year revenue increase in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, fueled by accelerated adoption of AI Copilot features and strong demand for digital transformation projects. Enterprise customers cited improved process automation and data insights as key benefits, positioning Dynamics 365 as a strategic catalyst for Microsoft’s cloud segment. Management highlighted that as AI capabilities become embedded in business applications, Dynamics revenues are expected to maintain double-digit growth through mid-2026.
3. Institutional Investors Rebalance Positions
Several asset managers adjusted their Microsoft stakes in the latest filings. Seneca House Advisors trimmed its position by 9.6%, selling roughly 3,000 shares and reducing the holding to approximately $14.8 million, representing about 6% of the firm’s portfolio. Meanwhile, Sarasin & Partners lowered its Microsoft allocation by 5.5%, disposing of 114,836 shares and decreasing exposure to around $1 billion—10% of its total assets under management. These reallocations reflect portfolio rebalancing ahead of year-end, though Microsoft remains a core holding for both institutions.
