Savara’s molgramostim improves gas transfer in exploratory aPAP trial analysis
SVRA•Savara presented an exploratory post-hoc analysis of its Phase 2/3 IMPALA trial linking daily molgramostim to improved pulmonary gas transfer and reduced surfactant buildup in patients with mild diffusion impairment. The analysis included eight patients assigned molgramostim and three assigned placebo.
1. Exploratory trial analysis
Savara presented findings at the CHEST 2026 Annual Meeting from a post-hoc analysis of the Phase 2/3 IMPALA trial in patients with autoimmune pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (aPAP) and mild diffusion impairment. Daily molgramostim was linked to improved pulmonary gas transfer and reduced surfactant buildup.
2. Patient outcomes and limits
Respiratory quality of life improved over 24 weeks, while lung diffusion capacity was maintained. The exploratory analysis included eight patients assigned daily molgramostim and three assigned placebo, limiting conclusions about benefits across disease severity.
