SCYNEXIS names Akebia CMO Steven K. Burke to board

SCYNEXIS appointed Steven K. Burke, M.D., to its board, effective Sept. 18, 2026.

Burke has worked at Akebia Therapeutics since 2019. He has served as Akebia’s senior vice president, chief R&D officer, chief medical officer since 2021.

Earlier roles include founder of Abfero Pharmaceuticals. He previously served as senior vice president, chief medical officer at Proteon Therapeutics from 2006 to 2019.
