Since 2025, SDG&E has expanded battery storage by 230 MW at the Westside Canal facility and added 30 MW in Fallbrook, while enhancing the Cameron Corners Microgrid with 500 kW of battery storage and an 875 kW solar array. The utility also upgraded 15 substations and improved real-time monitoring tools, boosting overall grid capacity by over 890 MW.
The utility extended super off-peak hours on eligible Time-of-Use plans year-round, offering lower-priced energy weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and overnight from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. Close coordination with the California Independent System Operator and enhanced system monitoring ensure real-time management and continued reliability during peak demand periods.
