Seer Secures European Patent EP4056263 Maintenance, ITC Probes Nanomics Infringement
SEER•The European Patent Office upheld EP4056263 on June 25, validating Seer’s particle-based protein enrichment claims. On June 29, the U.S. International Trade Commission opened an investigation into importation of Nanomics’ Proteonano kits, accusing them of infringing five Seer U.S. patents.
1. European Patent Victory
On June 25, 2026, the European Patent Office concluded that Patent No. EP4056263 would be maintained with claims covering Seer’s proprietary particle-based proteomic enrichment technology, rejecting the opposition’s revocation request. A written decision by the EPO is expected in approximately two months, solidifying Seer’s IP position in Europe.
2. U.S. ITC Investigation
On June 29, 2026, the U.S. International Trade Commission instituted an investigation into Nanomics Biotechnology’s importation of Proteonano kits and workstations, alleging infringement of five Seer U.S. patents. Seer filed the original complaint on May 28 and is seeking a limited exclusion order to block these products from the U.S. market.
3. Expanding Patent Portfolio
Seer’s IP estate now includes over 250 patent applications and issued patents, including 84 worldwide, reinforcing its leadership in deep proteomics. Earlier in March, the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board upheld key claims of U.S. Patent No. 11,435,360, further validating Seer’s proprietary Proteograph® Product Suite technologies.
