Shell's 27% Stake in Lapa South-West Adds 25,000 bpd; Files 2025 Form 20-F
Shell holds 27% stake in TotalEnergies-operated Lapa South-West project in Brazil, adding 25,000 barrels per day via three new wells linked to the Lapa FPSO. Shell filed its 2025 Form 20-F and Annual Report on March 12, 2026, with printed copies available April 27.
1. Lapa South-West Production Start
TotalEnergies has commenced production at the Lapa South-West expansion in the Santos Basin, nearly 300km offshore Brazil. The project, sanctioned in 2023, drilled three new wells tied into the existing Lapa FPSO, designed to boost field output by 25,000 barrels per day.
2. Shell's Equity and Output Impact
Shell holds a 27% non-operated interest in Lapa South-West alongside TotalEnergies (48%) and Repsol Sinopec (25%). Shell’s proportional share of the additional 25,000 bpd is expected to enhance its Brazil oil volumes and support its strategy to grow production by 3% annually through 2030.
