Shimmick Wins $256 Million in California, Texas Water Infrastructure Projects
Shimmick secured $256 million in water infrastructure contracts across California and Texas, including a $180 million Daly City drainage tunnel upgrade and a $32 million Napa River floodwall project. The company also won a $44 million subcontract to expand Austin’s Walnut Creek plant to 100 million gallons per day.

Shimmick announced approximately $256 million in new infrastructure projects focused on water systems in California and Texas, reinforcing its strategy to grow within its core water and electrical markets. The awards expand the company’s project backlog and reflect its expertise in delivering complex solutions for stormwater and wastewater challenges.
2. Major California Projects
In California, Shimmick secured a $180 million contract for the Vista Grande Drainage Basin Improvements Project in Daly City, which includes an underground drainage tunnel, conveyance structures and flood protection measures for 100,000 residents. The company also won a $32 million award to build 1.3 miles of floodwalls along the Napa River, protecting more than 2,000 homes and businesses.
3. Austin Wastewater Expansion
Shimmick won a $44 million subcontract under a Construction Manager at Risk program to expand Austin’s Walnut Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant to 100 million gallons per day. The work covers construction of water‐bearing concrete structures, underground piping and installation of process equipment to support growing demand in the region.
