Shinhan Bank reports unauthorized access and customer data obtained in cyber incident
SHG•Shinhan Bank identified unauthorized external access to certain services, resulting in customer information being obtained. Shinhan Financial Group said it cannot yet quantify any impact on its financial condition, operating results or business activities.
1. Investigation underway
Shinhan Bank launched a systems review, tightened security controls and began a joint probe with authorities and external cybersecurity specialists. The group is reviewing its information security framework and plans steps to prevent recurrence and expand employee cybersecurity training.
