McCormick Q3 earnings per share drop 57% to $0.36; net sales jump 17% to $2.02 billion

1. Sales rise, earnings fall
McCormick posted third-quarter net sales of $2.02 billion, up 17% from a year earlier. Operating income fell 25% to $217 million, while gross profit margin widened 1.9 percentage points to 39.3%.
2. Charges weigh on EPS
Net income attributable to McCormick dropped 57% to $97.6 million, and diluted EPS slid 57% to $0.36. Management said special charges, including transaction and integration costs and a non-cash impairment, reduced diluted EPS by $0.50.
3. Outlook reaffirmed
McCormick reaffirmed its FY26 outlook for net sales growth, adjusted operating income and adjusted EPS. Integration planning for the Unilever Foods deal remained on track.
