Kwezi is nearing end of life as mining hits license-area limits; a shallow-reserves project stalled by objections and approval delays.
Losses totaled about ZAR 208 million in 2024 and ZAR 91 million in 2025, with losses forecast in H2 2026 as output falls.
H1 2026 production was 20,658 4E ounces, under 3% of managed and attributable SA PGM output of 734,645 4E ounces.
Consultations opened on Kwezi shaft restructuring
Sibanye-Stillwater opened Section 189A labor consultations on restructuring its Kwezi shaft at the Rustenburg SA PGM operation.
The process could affect about 781 employees, plus 333 contractor employees, with no final decision taken.
