Smackover Lithium Awards EPCM Contract to Wood for Four Well Pads at 22,500 TPA Arkansas Project
Smackover Lithium signed an EPCM agreement with Wood Group USA to develop the upstream well field at the South West Arkansas Project, comprising four well pads with 12 supply and ten injection wells. Upstream work represents under one-third of project capex and preparation for Final Investment Decision in 2026.
1. EPCM Agreement with Wood Group USA
Smackover Lithium has entered into an EPCM agreement with Wood Group USA for the upstream well field of its South West Arkansas Project, covering four well pads, twelve supply wells, ten injection wells, brine gathering and return pipelines, and a gas gathering system to disposal wells.
2. Project Scope and Capital Allocation
The SWA Project’s initial phase targets 22,500 tonnes per annum of battery-quality lithium carbonate, with upstream well field activities accounting for under one-third of the estimated capital expenditure defined in the Definitive Feasibility Study.
3. Path to Final Investment Decision
A Limited Notice to Proceed allows early detailed engineering, permitting and procurement ahead of a Full Notice to Proceed following a positive Final Investment Decision expected in 2026, while a separate EPCC agreement for the central processing facility is slated for the second quarter.
