SolarEdge extends Infineon collaboration on solid-state circuit breakers for 800 VDC AI data centers
SEDG•Connection to earlier platform work
The move extends the companies’ earlier work on SolarEdge’s solid-state transformer platform, aimed at 13.8-34.5 kV to 800-1500 VDC conversion.
Division of responsibilities and technology
SolarEdge leads SSCB design, while Infineon supplies silicon-carbide CoolSiC JFET devices used in the protection hardware.
Expanded collaboration on solid-state circuit breakers
SolarEdge expanded its collaboration with Infineon to develop solid-state circuit breakers for 800 VDC distribution in AI, hyperscale data centers.
The companies said the work is focused on ultra-fast fault isolation in high-voltage DC systems, targeting microsecond interruption to support selective protection in power-dense racks.
