Southern Copper posts transcript of 2Q26 earnings conference call

Southern Copper’s 2Q26 earnings call featured CFO Raul Jacob, joined by CEO and board member Leonardo Contreras.
- Sales reached $4.3 billion, up 41% year over year.
- Adjusted EBITDA rose 60% to $2.86 billion.
- Net income jumped 72% to $1.67 billion.
- Copper output fell 3.5% to 230,662 tons on a 12% drop in Peru, partly offset by a 3.2% increase in Mexico.
- 2026 copper guidance was lifted to 917,000 tons.
- Operating cash cost was $2.29 per pound before byproduct credits; after credits it was $0.05 per pound, versus minus $0.11 in 1Q26.
Tia Maria reached 42% completion with $693 million invested. Southern Peru Copper issued $1.25 billion of 10-year fixed-rate senior unsecured notes at 5.35% to fund it.
