Stellantis Extends Mirafiori Shutdown, Cuts Hybrid Fiat 500 Output to 400 Units
STLA•Stellantis extended Mirafiori plant shutdown from July 27-31 and will stop operations three weeks in August due to engine, bumper and sensor shortages, cutting hybrid Fiat 500 output to 400 units from 430. It plans a China-built Jeep SUV in Europe by 2030, raising its Jeep models to six.
1. Mirafiori Plant Shutdown Extended
Stellantis extended its summer halt at the Mirafiori facility in Turin by an additional week from July 27 to 31 and plans a three-week closure in August. The move follows repeated stoppages tied to a local holiday and signals deeper operational disruptions.
2. Hybrid Fiat 500 Output Reduced
Parts shortages including engines, bumpers and sensors have forced a reduction in daily hybrid Fiat 500 assembly from 430 units to 400. The production cut highlights ongoing supply chain constraints for the model launched late last year.
3. China-Built Jeep SUV for Europe
The automaker will introduce a China-built Jeep SUV in Europe by 2030, produced at Dongfeng’s Wuhan facility. This launch will expand the European Jeep range from two to six models by decade’s end as part of its renewed China partnership.
