Stellantis Signs Jaguar Land Rover MOU and 51/49 JV for US, Europe EVs

It also signed a 51/49 JV MOU with Dongfeng to distribute Voyah premium EVs across Europe, with potential production at its Rennes plant and a separate affordable compact EV project slated for 2028 at its Pomigliano facility.

1. U.S. Collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover

On May 20, Stellantis and Jaguar Land Rover signed a non-binding MOU to explore shared product design and technology development for U.S. models. The agreement leaves specific programs, timelines, and financial terms undefined, but envisions leveraging Jeep Compass architectures for potential new Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles.

2. European Voyah joint venture

The same day, Stellantis agreed a 51/49 joint venture MOU with Dongfeng Group to distribute Voyah premium electric vehicles across European markets. The plan includes possible local assembly at Stellantis’ Rennes, France plant, subject to further feasibility studies and final approvals.

3. Affordable compact EV project in Italy

Stellantis also announced a separate project to produce an affordable compact electric vehicle at its Pomigliano d’Arco facility in Italy, with production slated to begin in 2028. This aims to tap growing demand for lower-cost EVs in Europe and optimize utilization of existing manufacturing capacity.
