The company achieved record upstream output of 909,000 bbl/d and 108% refinery utilization on 504,000 bbl/d throughput, generating C$1.7 billion free cash flow and maintaining its C$0.60 dividend.

Despite a 1.3% year-over-year revenue decline, earnings beat estimates thanks to stronger upstream production and favorable crack spreads in downstream operations.
2. Operational Records in Upstream and Refining
Upstream production reached a record 909,000 bbl/d, up 3.9% year-over-year, while refining throughput hit 504,000 bbl/d with utilization at 108%. Fort Hills mining achieved 90% of nameplate capacity and Syncrude upgrader ran at a record 109% capacity, driving lower per-barrel operating costs.
3. Cash Flow, Dividends and Shareholder Returns
The quarter generated C$3.2 billion in adjusted funds from operations and C$1.7 billion in free cash flow, funding C$775 million in share repurchases and C$719 million in dividends. The board maintained the C$0.60/share quarterly dividend and invested C$1.5 billion in capital expenditures.
