SunOpta recorded 733 metric tons of carbon emissions savings, a 49% increase year over year, through load mode optimization, and produced 275,503 kWh of solar energy—covering over 25% of its Minneapolis headquarters’ annual needs. The company saved 48.4 billion gallons of water versus dairy milk production, maintained zero-waste-to-landfill status at six sites, and donated more than 375,000 pounds of food.

2. Product Portfolio and Revenue Impact

The company generated $30.8 million in revenue from non-GMO-labeled products, offered 50 certified organic and 30 non-GMO Project own-branded items, and achieved 100% sourcing from GFSI-certified suppliers. SunOpta updated food loss and waste policies with new standard operating procedures and plans plant training in 2026, while earning a Progressive Grocer Impact Award for ethical sourcing.

3. Community and Workforce Engagement

SunOpta connected 83% of its top suppliers on an ethical supply chain platform, logged 1,052 employee volunteer hours, and provided $20,000 in annual scholarships. Its Alexandria, Minnesota, operations received the Governor’s Gold Achievement Award for Excellence in Occupational Injury Prevention.
