Super League issues stockholder letter backing Metaplanet deal ahead of Oct. 16 vote
SLE•Super League Enterprise issued a stockholder letter backing its proposed deal with Metaplanet ahead of an Oct. 16 vote. If the deal closes, Metaplanet is expected to contribute 2,100 bitcoin, valued at $132 million on Aug. 14 and about $179 million on Oct. 2, 2026.
1. Deal and bitcoin treasury
Super League Enterprise is set to become a Nasdaq-listed company controlled by Japan’s Metaplanet, subject to closing conditions. The combined company plans to rename as Superplanet, and Metaplanet is expected to contribute 2,100 bitcoin to seed a corporate treasury. That bitcoin was valued at $132 million on Aug. 14, 2026, and about $179 million based on Coinbase’s Oct. 2, 2026 closing price. Metaplanet agreed to a five-year lock-up on shares received at closing, including shares from exercising or converting additional securities.
