Supermicro Launches AMD EPYC 4005-Based Edge AI Systems with Up to 16 Cores

SMCISMCI

Supermicro unveiled three compact edge AI systems powered by AMD EPYC 4005 CPUs, offering up to 16 cores, 192GB DDR5 and 65W TDP in mini-1U, short-depth 1U and slim tower form factors. Each model integrates TPM 2.0, AMD SEV, IPMI 2.0 and PCIe Gen5 to boost security, remote management and energy efficiency.

1. Product Introduction

Supermicro introduced three new compact edge AI platforms powered by AMD EPYC 4005 CPUs, including a mini-1U box (AS-E300-14GR), a short-depth 1U rackmount (AS-1116R-FN4) and a slim tower system (AS-3015TR-i4). These systems target space- and power-constrained environments.

2. Technical Specifications

The AS-E300-14GR supports up to 16 cores and 192GB DDR5 in a 2.5L chassis, while the AS-1116R-FN4 adds expanded storage for branch consolidation and the AS-3015TR-i4 accommodates dual-slot GPUs like NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell. All models feature 65W TDP, PCIe Gen5 expansion, TPM 2.0, AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization and IPMI 2.0 remote management.

3. Market Applications

Designed for real-time inferencing and critical workloads across retail checkout, manufacturing analytics, healthcare diagnostics and enterprise branches, these platforms aim to lower total cost of ownership through improved energy efficiency and remote management. Supermicro positions these systems to enable scalable, secure distributed computing at the network edge.
