Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. shares climbed as much as 6% on Monday, marking the biggest one-day advance since April and pushing the stock to fresh all-time highs. Investor enthusiasm has been fueled by the outlook for AI chip orders, with analysts forecasting TSMC’s advanced 3-nanometer node capacity to be fully booked through 2026. The company’s market capitalization now exceeds $700 billion, reflecting a nearly 45% gain over the past 12 months, outpacing broader semiconductor indices by more than 20 percentage points.

2. Goldman Sachs Reiterates Bullish Outlook on Capacity Expansion

Goldman Sachs analysts reaffirmed their positive stance on TSMC, citing strong visibility into foundry bookings for high-performance compute applications. The research note highlighted plans for additional fab investments in Arizona and Taiwan, which could add over 200,000 wafer starts per month by the end of next year. According to Goldman’s models, each incremental 10,000‐wafer increase at the cutting-edge process nodes could translate into $500 million in incremental annual revenue for TSMC.

3. Taiwan Prosecutors File New Charges in Trade Secrets Case

Taipei prosecutors have brought additional indictments against four defendants, including a local unit of Tokyo Electron, alleging the theft of proprietary process information from TSMC. The newly filed charges relate to unauthorized transfers of mask set designs and defect-analysis data, which could carry fines up to NT$50 million per violation. While TSMC declined to comment directly, the company has indicated it will pursue civil remedies and has tightened internal security protocols, given the strategic importance of its intellectual property in maintaining technological leadership.
