Taiwan September exports hit fresh monthly record on AI demand, US leads
TSM•Taiwan’s exports rose 60.9% year over year to a record $87.22 billion in September, beating analysts’ 45.65% forecast. Exports to the United States surged 106.2% to $27.461 billion.

Taiwan’s exports reached a record for a second consecutive month in September, rising 60.9% from a year earlier to $87.22 billion, the finance ministry said. The increase exceeded analysts’ forecast of 45.65% and August’s 41.0% growth, marking the 35th straight monthly year-over-year gain.
2. AI demand lifts shipments
Exports of electronic components rose 45.3% to $31.131 billion, while information products exports jumped 103%. The ministry said AI applications, high-performance computing and cloud services continued to grow. Exports to the United States climbed 106.2% to $27.461 billion, and exports to China rose 30.2%.
3. Fourth-quarter outlook
Imports rose 51.7% to $63.59 billion, above economists’ forecast of 43.2%. The ministry expects export growth to continue into the fourth quarter and forecasts October exports will rise 40% to 44% year over year.
