1. Trial findings
The Phase 4 VERDICT trial compared targeting disease clearance with targeting symptom remission alone in adults with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis. Disease clearance combined steroid-free symptom remission with visible and microscopic intestinal healing; no new safety signals emerged through 96 weeks, and adverse event rates were similar across treatment groups. Results were presented at United European Gastroenterology Week 2026 and published in the United European Gastroenterology Journal.
