Telesat Government Solutions, Cailabs partner on secure optical space-to-ground links for US, allied missions

Telesat Government Solutions signed a strategic collaboration agreement with CAILabs SAS to integrate secure optical space-to-ground connectivity for government missions.

Work will assess interoperability between Telesat Lightspeed’s optical inter-satellite links and Cailabs’ production-ready optical ground stations.

The parties plan joint studies and demonstrations targeting U.S. government opportunities, including space data relay services.

Telesat Lightspeed is designed around a space-based mesh with 900 optical inter-satellite link terminals to route traffic in orbit.

Cailabs targets production capacity of up to 50 optical ground stations per year to support scaled deployment.
