1. Quarterly results
TELUS management attributed the third-quarter 2026 net loss of CAD 660 million primarily to impairments and higher financing costs. The CAD 800 million impairment reflected the health unit’s recoverable value falling below its carrying value. Adjusted EBITDA fell 5% to CAD 1.76 billion, while free cash flow dropped 35% to CAD 396 million.
2. Revenue pressures
Lower real estate gains, legacy voice declines and higher technology costs weighed on adjusted EBITDA. Digital revenue weakened as clients reduced trust and safety and AI-related work, while mobile subscriber growth helped offset consolidated revenue pressures. Lower EBITDA and increased capital expenditures drove the free cash flow decline.
