Terra Innovatum secured a long-term Howden steam turbine and generator supply agreement to support its FOAK SOLO micro-reactor deployment in Illinois by 2027 and underpin plans for up to 100 units worldwide. The partnership integrates proven turbines optimized for 1 MWe reactors to enable scalable outputs of 3–15 MWe.
Terra Innovatum has executed a long-term procurement order with Howden for steam turbines and generators to equip its First-of-a-Kind SOLO micro-modular reactor. The deal secures critical secondary-side equipment for the Illinois FOAK site and establishes a framework for future Nth-of-a-Kind global rollouts.
Howden’s turbine technology has been adapted to meet SOLO’s requirements, delivering a 1 MWe output per unit. The standardized design supports scalable multi-unit configurations, enabling combined power outputs ranging from 3 to 15 MWe from a common turbine platform.
With its FOAK site selected at Rock City Admiral Parkway in Illinois, Terra Innovatum targets deployment by 2027 and has non-binding MOUs for up to 100 SOLO reactors worldwide. The partnership aims to reduce lead times, optimize production ramp-up and lower lifecycle costs for high-volume commercial launch in 2028.
