Terra Innovatum taps ex-AREVA leader Kathy Williams as CFO for SMR commercialization

Terra Innovatum appointed nuclear industry veteran Kathy Williams, former AREVA CEO and CFO, as its new Chief Financial Officer to bolster commercialization of its SOLO™ Micro-Modular Reactor and advance its Construction Permit Application with the NRC. Mike Howard, ex-EPRI CEO, will become Chairman as the company prepares for commercial deployment.

1. Leadership Appointments

Terra Innovatum elevated Kathy Williams, former AREVA CEO and CFO, to Chief Financial Officer to enhance its financial, operational and capital markets expertise. With over 40 years in nuclear project execution and strategy at AREVA and Framatome, she will guide budgeting, fundraising and commercial rollout of the SOLO™ Micro-Modular Reactor.

2. Board Succession

Mike Howard, who led the Electric Power Research Institute as CEO, will succeed Williams as Chairman of the Board. Howard’s experience in global energy systems and utility-scale innovation will strengthen oversight as the company shifts from development to large-scale deployment.

3. Commercialization Roadmap

The company is advancing its Construction Permit Application with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to enable first deployments of SOLO™ within three years. SOLO™ offers scalable, CO₂-free power from 1 MWe modules up to 1 GW, targeting data centers, remote microgrids and industrial heat applications, with adaptable fuel options for future markets.
