2. Rising Competition in Robotics
OpenAI launched a dedicated robotics division to develop hardware, controls, systems, and machine-learning models for skilled-labor and personal robots. Nvidia announced a partnership with Chinese robotics firm Unitree to integrate Jetson Thor computing modules and the Isaac GR00T platform into H2 humanoid robots, signalling intensifying rivalry.
3. Optimus Production Timeline
Elon Musk stated Optimus Gen 3 is nearly ready for demonstration and is slated for a July-August unveiling ahead of volume production later this year. He also cautioned that production rates at Tesla’s Fremont factory remain unpredictable due to the product’s novelty and complex supply chain requirements.
