TEVA•Teva expects to grow in 2027 despite US price caps on Austedo under the Inflation Reduction Act. CEO Richard Francis said Weltruza is unlikely to generate significant revenue until the second half of 2027, while Teva expects its generics business to keep growing and generating profits.
1. 2027 growth outlook
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries expects to grow in 2027 despite US Inflation Reduction Act price caps on Austedo, its branded drug for Huntington's disease and tardive dyskinesia, CEO Richard Francis said in an interview.
2. Drug and generics plans
Francis said Teva's recently launched schizophrenia drug Weltruza is unlikely to generate significant revenue until the second half of 2027, but the company is well positioned for 2028. He said Teva believes its generics business will continue to grow and generate profits because of its large biosimilars pipeline, despite weakness in generics drugs and strong growth in three branded drugs.
