1. First Delivery and Certification Milestone
On December 30, 2025, Textron Aviation delivered the first Cessna Citation Ascend to a retail customer in Wichita, Kansas, marking the model’s official entry into service. The midsize business jet, which was first announced in 2023, received type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in November 2025. This delivery represents Textron’s strategic push to refresh its midsize segment, building on more than 1,000 Citation 560XL series aircraft delivered since 2000 and leveraging decades of operational data to refine performance and reliability.
2. Advanced Cockpit, Performance and Cabin Features
The Citation Ascend is equipped with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite, featuring autothrottle technology, three 14-inch ultra-high-resolution displays with split-screen capability, dual flight management systems and synthetic vision. Optional CPDLC and Iridium data radios support direct North America–Europe routing. Powered by twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545D engines, the jet achieves a maximum cruise speed of 441 ktas and offers a four-passenger range of 1,940 nautical miles with a full-fuel payload of 900 pounds. The flat-floor cabin accommodates up to 12 passengers, with acoustic treatment for highway-quiet noise levels, nearly 15% larger windows, wireless climate and lighting controls, and standard GoGo Avance L3 Max Wi-Fi connectivity.
3. Global Support Network and Maintenance Programs
Textron Aviation supports Citation Ascend owners through 20 company-owned service centers, 21 authorized facilities and over 80 mobile service units worldwide. Its parts distribution network includes seven distribution centers and 17 stockrooms, offering same-day shipping for more than 150,000 part numbers. The standard maintenance interval is 18 months or 800 flight hours, backed by a five-year/5,000-hour avionics warranty and a five-year/3,000-hour engine warranty. Engine overhaul intervals extend to 6,000 hours, with 3,000-hour hot-section inspections. Customers can opt for the PowerAdvantage Premium program, which adds environmental damage coverage, AOG mobile response, and freight and labor for engine replacement.
