TTE•TotalEnergies announced expanded methane-reduction cooperation with PETRONAS, SONANGOL and Oil India on November 1, 2026. The efforts include methane technology evaluation in Southeast Asia, emissions and flaring reductions in Angola, and additional detection campaigns in India, supporting a 2030 upstream methane ambition.
TotalEnergies announced expanded methane-reduction cooperation with PETRONAS, SONANGOL and Oil India. A PETRONAS-led center in Malaysia will evaluate methane measurement technologies across Southeast Asia, drawing on expertise from TotalEnergies’ testing facility.
Cooperation with SONANGOL targets methane emissions and flaring reductions in Angola, alongside energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions. Oil India will extend AUSEA methane detection to additional sites through a second one-month campaign, after initial testing across 20 Assam sites.
The partnerships support the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter’s ambition of near-zero upstream methane emissions by 2030.
