TotalEnergies Sells 170 MW Distributed Solar in Seven European Markets
TTE•TotalEnergies has sold its 170 MW distributed solar portfolio across seven European countries, ending its small-scale rooftop solar operations. The French energy major will redirect capital toward larger utility-scale renewable projects to accelerate its development of solar and wind farms.
1. Exit from Distributed Solar
TotalEnergies completed the divestment of its distributed solar generation assets in seven European countries, representing roughly 170 MW of rooftop capacity. This move marks the French group’s full withdrawal from the small-scale solar segment.
2. Strategic Shift to Utility-Scale Projects
Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into larger utility-scale renewable energy developments, including ground-mounted solar and wind farms. The company aims to enhance project scale and efficiency by concentrating on fewer, higher-capacity installations.
