1. EU Carbon Credit Pool Withdrawal

Toyota has pulled out of Tesla’s European Union carbon credit pool for 2026, retaining the option to rejoin until December. The automaker plans to meet CO2 targets through internal emissions reductions and its expanding EV lineup, including the bZ4X and the Urban Cruiser.

2. Taiwan February Sales Decline with Rebound Forecast

Taiwan’s new vehicle registrations fell 20% to 22,043 units in February, cutting Toyota’s local sales by 9% to 19,274 units. Hotai Motor expects a 6% market recovery this year, while industry forecaster GlobalData projects a 10% rebound in light vehicle sales.
