Toyota has filed for approval to add a new assembly line at its San Antonio complex under Project Orca, a $2bn investment that includes $1.05bn for building improvements and $950m for machinery and equipment. The expansion would become the company’s sixth U.S. assembly plant, create 2,000 jobs and target production start in 2030.

For the fiscal year ended March 2026, Toyota recorded operating income of JPY3.766 trillion, down JPY1.029 trillion from the prior period. The decline reflected U.S. tariff headwinds that were partially offset by higher vehicle sales and strategic price adjustments.
